هدف الباحث من خلال هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على الأعراض السيكوسوماتية للأمهات المطلقات من خلال استخدام أدوات القياس النفسي والأدوات الكلينيكية. تكونت عينة الدراسة الكلية من 149 أم مقسمة إلى 30 أم مطلقة للعينة الاستطلاعية، و 86 أم مطلقة لعينة البحث الأساسية، ودراسة حالة واحدة مستمدة من العينة الأساسية، تتراوح أعمارهن من 25 إلى 40 سنة فأكثر بمستويات تعليمية مختلفة. من التعليم الابتدائي إلى الدراسات العليا، ومن تعمل ومن لا تعمل. استخدمت الدراسة مزيجًا ما بين المنهج التحليلي والكلينيكي، وتألفت أدوات الدراسة من مقياس الأعراض السيكوسوماتية لدى الأمهات المطلقات (أعده الباحث) بالإضافة إلى المقابلة الكلينيكية واستراتيجية التداعي الحر والاختبار الإسقاطي لاستكمال الجمل الناقصة بواسطة جوزيف م. ساكس، والاختبار الإسقاطي تفهم الموضوع للكبار بواسطة هنري موراي وكريستيانا مورجان، وقد نتج عن المعالجة الإحصائية للدراسة تحقق بعض فرضيات البحث وعدم تحقق البعض الاخر، أما بالنسبة للتطبيق الكلينيكي فقد نتج عن ذلك وجود أعراض سيكوسوماتية قوية في الحالات القصوى للأمهات المطلقات.
The researcher through this study aimed to identify the psychosomatic symptoms of divorced mothers through the use of psychometric and clinical tools. The total study sample consisted of 149 mothers divided into 30 divorced mothers for the pilot sample, 86 divorced mothers for the basic research sample, and one case study derived from the basic sample, their ages from 25 to 40 years and above with different educational levels ranging from elementary to postgraduate studies, and those who work and those who do not. The researcher used a mix of descriptive and clinical approaches and the tools consisted of psychometric and clinical tools such as a measure of psychosomatic symptoms among divorced mothers (prepared by researcher) as well as clinical interview, free association strategy, projective test completing missing sentences by Joseph Sachs, projective test understanding the subject for adults by Henry Murray and Christiana Morgan, The statistical treatment of the study resulted in the fulfillment of some research hypotheses and not fulfillment of some of them, As for the clinical application, it resulted in the presence of strong psychosomatic symptoms in the extreme cases of divorced mother.
