فى ظل الثورة المعرفية والمعلوماتية ازدادت أهمية رأس المال الفكرى وما يمتلكه من خبرات ومهارات وقدرات تسهم فى تطوير أداء الجامعات وتعزز قدرتها التنافسية ، حيث أصبح رأس المال الفكرى موردا استراتيجيا لا محدود من الإبداع والابتكار والمعارف الكامنة والكفاءات الأساسية وهو ما جعل القيمة الحقيقية للجامعات تكمن فى قيمة رأس مالها الفكرى ، وقدرتها على توظيف المعرفة الكامنة فيه وتحويلها إلى تطبيقات عملية تسهم فى تحقيق الميزة التنافسية  للجامعات ، ويهدف البحث الحالي إلى تنمية رأس المال الفكرى لدعم الميزة التنافسية بالجامعات المصرية ، وقد اعتمد البحث فى منهجيته على تحليل الدراسات والأدبيات ذات الصلة بموضوعات البحث ، وتوصل البحث إلى بعض النتائج أهمها : أن الجامعات المصرية تواجه ضغوطاً متزايدة لتكون أكثر تنافسية فى عالم اتسم بالانفتاح المعرفى وسيادة عصر المعلومات ،  أن رأس المال الفكرى يمثل الثروة الحقيقية ومصدر الميزة التنافسية للجامعة ، وعليه فإن المنافسة الحقيقية بين الجامعات تتمثل فى مدى قدرتها على بناء وتنمية رأس المال الفكرى بها ،  أن الأهتمام بتنمية وتطوير رأس المال الفكرى بالجامعات المصرية لا يزال محدود وغير كاف لدعم الميزة التنافسية بها، ولذلك اقترح البحث الحالى تقديم بعض الآليات المقترحة لتنمية رأس المال الفكرى لدعم الميزة التنافسية بالجامعات المصرية  .
In light of the knowledge and information revolution, the importance of intellectual capital and its experiences, skills and capabilities that contribute to develop the performance of universities and enhancing their competitiveness has increased. Its intellectual capital, and its ability to employ the knowledge inherent in it and transform it into practical applications that contribute to achieve the competitive advantage of universities, The current research aims to develop intellectual capital to support the competitive advantage in Egyptian universities, The research methodology relied on the analysis of studies and literature related to research topics, The research reached some results, the most important of which are: that Egyptian universities are facing increasing pressure  to be more competitive in a world characterized by openness of knowledge and the rule of the information age, that intellectual capital represents the real wealth and the source of the university’s competitive advantage. Therefore, the real competition between universities is represented in the extent of their ability to build and develop Intellectual capital, that interest in the development of intellectual capital in Egyptian universities is still limited and insufficient to support their competitive advantage. Therefore, the current research provides some proposed mechanisms for the development of intellectual capital to support the competitive advantage in Egyptian universities
